Our Mission
The mission of Minneapolis Community Initiatives is to create access to fundamental resources: food, education, housing, and other basic human needs, and to do so sustainably and in a way that participants can be empowered and respected.
Purpose
Our corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, or scientific purposes. This corporation shall not be operated for profit, but rather shall be operated exclusively for charitable purposes.
The specific purpose of Minneapolis Community Initiatives is charitable and educational:
- Charitable: To relieve the poor, distressed, and the underprivileged as well as reduce the burdens of government by providing access to housing, nutritious food, education, and basic needs to build self-sufficiency and social justice.

Educational: To instruct and engage the community about building self-sufficiency and social justice. This includes:
- helping adults and youth build character and realize their full potential by providing learning tools in a safe, friendly, and tolerant environment;
- conducting educational programs incorporating balanced nutrition, reading, writing, math, effective communication, problem-solving skills, financial management, job skills, and wise use of resources; and
- conducting seminars, discussion groups, and training.
